Welcome . . .

R-B Training Stables is located in the heart of the Central Valley. We are a family-run training/breeding facility owned and operated by Rod and Michelle Burr.

Rod is a native of Livermore, California; growing up in the rodeo and ranching business. To help pay his way through college, Rod rode for other trainers. He soon realized training horses was more than a job, it was something he enjoyed. He continued to work for various trainers soaking up as much as he could until he was ready to start his own facility.

In 1993, Rod started his own facility specializing in starting colts, training cowhorses and reiners, with emphases on versatility horses.

Andrea with Horse

Michelle a native of Oakdale, grew up involved with FFA & 4H and enjoyed showing her horses. She continued life in the equine world working as a vet technician at a specialty equine clinic. She has assisted her husband in his profession and brought up two active daughters in horses as well.

The oldest Ashton was a member of the horsemans club in her younger years, she participated in competitive speed events as a teen & has become a key member over the years in assisting her parents and younger sister in the preparation of horse shows. She has come away with a wealth of experience and knowledge in the show world. Ashton is currently a 2nd year student of Oklahoma State University.

Our youngest daughter Andrea grew up in the saddle with daddy. She has become quite the progeny of her Father when it comes to the horse! As a 5 year old in leadline she took champion at the AQHA Mothers Day Circuit & won high point at the Stanislaus County Fair. In 2011 at the same county fair she won high point in walk jog. This year she has proudly come home from the SLOCQHA Mothers Day Circuit in Paso Robles with All Around Buckle winner, showing in Western Pleasure, Showmanship, Trail and Horsemanship. She was featured in the Pacific Coast Journal.
